 Buzz's Spanish Mode "My what?" Dec 29, 2010

We got this one for our son, because during the 2010 Christmas it was our only option. Stores around us were sold out and this figure popped up on the shelves just days before Christmas, so we took a chance. Let me say, this is an awesome Buzz Lightyear. Holding this and playing with it, is exactly what holding the real Buzz should feel like. The toy is strong and durable. My son is currently 3 and he hasn't had a "nice toy" like this, so he has thrown it a few times across a hard wood floor and it has held it's own.
The face sculpt on this figure is different from other Buzz figures and I think it looks very "cool." The wings, lights, voices, lazer, karate chop arm are ALL things Buzz does in the movies. Buzz even has the flip up forearm lid that covers his galactic communicator. His clear dome helmet even opens and closes. He is fully jointed and posable and even has "Andy's name" on the bottom of his right foot. Even his wrists and fingers are posable.
Interesting things: the first two English buttons are the "same" button. Pressing one, presses them both. But you get a different phrase each time, and I doubt a kid would notice this.
Buzz is very top heavy - as you can see by his appearance, he carries all of his weight above his waist so that is where all the sound and batteries are kept.
Our Buzz didn't com with any instructions - maybe we missed em? But we did have to figure everything out from scratch as we opened it Christmas day. As it stands now, I don't even know where the batteries are kept or what kind he needs.
All that to say, this is a GREAT Buzz, don't let the Spanish feature throw you off - it's just one button and one aspect of the doll. My son loves the Spanish button - it is a great addition to make Buzz just that much more realistic.

This figure is simply awesome! If you bought the Advanced Talking Buss Lightyear, this Buzz does everything that one does plus speaks 19 Spanish phrases as well.
The karate chop action and laser work great; the helmet is prone to popping open, but that's life.
As for the batteries- there is a single screw at Buzz's waist- just at the bottom of his backpack- this is the only screw to open to change batteries - he takes 3 AA batteries. The instructions were printed on the bottom of the multicolored cardboard box he was packaged in.
Unfortunately, he does Not have the play/demo switch as seen in TS3. But that would be asking for too much.

After buying so many books for my grand son he decides he wants buzz light year. So here I am looking on the internet for buzz light year. Delivery service was great. Very durable considering my grandson is very tough with his toys.

The is a great toy. So much fun to hear all the sayings in both English & Spanish. This was given as a gift and the receiver LOVES IT! Price was okay, found that my local Disney store had it for about $6.00 less, but shopping Amazon is so much easier than braving the crowds.

i think this toy's FANTASTIC!! i'm pretty sure this is the only bilingual toy in the US and it's AWESOME!! i got this a couple days after christmas and i still love it. though after i opened it, he wasn't fastened and the wings were broken, i fixed it. it's really durable and has almost everything!! it has a poseable head, removable helmet, lasers, and tons of articulation. NOTE:this was the last 1 in the whole store. the spanish is really neat and i really love this toy. THIS IS COMING FROM A NON-BUZZ LIGHTYEAR FAN!!!
