 The Disney Flynn Rider doll is authentic looking and well-made Dec 14, 2010

There appears to be some confusion regarding these Tangled dolls, be it Rapunzel or Flynn Rider. This is largely due to the different manufacturers. I found that the dolls made by Disney are generally in good condition, look authentic (in relation to the dolls featured in the Tangled movie), and hold up better. This is after I compared some of the Tangled dolls I purchased from Disney with those made by other companies that some of my friends had bought for their children. If you go into those holiday toy stores, there are many knock-off dolls that have the Tangled brand imprinted on the packaging, but a closer look tells you that these are nothing but cheap imitations.
Anyway, I purchased some Tangled dolls made by Disney for some of the little ones on my Christmas list. The Disney Tangled Flynn Rider doll is well-made. He wears a felt jacket and belt with a satchel. His arms can be moved, and he is poseable. In addition, there are two accessories. One is a mini crown and another is a larger crown with a comb attached to it (so it can be placed on a child's hair). The doll is about 12 inches in height. This is a great doll for your money, but please be aware when ordering as there are many other Tangled dolls out there not made by Disney.

The Flynn doll is nice. With bendable elbows and knees, he comes more posable than many male dolls. His face is spot-on with the movie character, it even has a little smirk. he is the perfect size for the disney store Rapunzel doll as well. His outfit is decent quality. I for one don't like the fuzzy feeling of the vest he wears, but that's just me. Other than that his satchel comes attached but is easily removed. We left it on so it wouldn't get lost. It fits the little tiara he comes with perfectly, making it easier to reenact the movie. His boots have a long slit up the back so you can take them off easier. Overall, he is a great prince doll. I know that we will be planning on ordering our princess and prince dolls from the Disney store from now on, because they actually look like the characters and are so much better in quality.

I bought both the Flynn and Rapunzel doll for my four year old granddaughter. Although she did like this doll, the Rapunzel doll was definitely her favorite. This doll is attractive and looks exactly like the movie character. It is well made and durable and well worth the price.

Please notice that this version of Flynn Ryder is the one from the Disney Store, NOT Mattel. The molds are similar, but not the same. The same for the box/packaging.
The play value/quality on this one seems better, as his legs are not held together by a string like Mattel's version. His "leather" vest and pants are in a darker tone and the fabrics are different from Mattel's. He includes his long boots and two of the sun crowns. The smaller one for him like in the movie, and a larger version that includes a comb to put on your little daughter's hair.
Like most male dolls his hair is molded, which would have been better if they gave him regular hair instead...
I don't know if Mattel's factories are the same ones that manufacture this version of the doll, but I would recommend this one for being more durable and closer to his real look in the movie.
For some odd reason he seems very hard to find at a low price just about everywhere... <:( So get yours now before the price gets higher.
