I am immensely satisfied with the amount of detail packed into this little guy. The cape, the wing, the sword, the hair, and (most importantly) the face are all accurate and well-crafted. The price is favorable, especially when compared to the $50+ dollars sellars are wanting for the larger Cloud Strife figure.
While it is perfect for collectors (and made for chess), it is fragile. The wing appears to be very delicate, and the sword is long enough to easily snap off. Sitting on a shelf with careful handling, it should hold up just fine. In the hands of a kid who wants to play with it, however, it probably won't last very long... Even if used only for chess, he must be handled with care (not held by the sword or wing).
I was suprised by the size of this figure (about 7in. tall). If you do wish to play chess with him, you'll need a pretty big board with suitably-sized squares!
Overall an excellent buy. My only gripe is that he's the only Final Fantasy character available for this set...

It looks great, and it's actually a little bigger than I pictured!
(And sorry for the one star on educational value - but really, what are you supposed to learn from a Cloud figurine?)

This is a beautiful figure, however, it's very delicate. I only used it for display purposes and Cloud's sword broke off in no time with minimal handling. If you're a collector of figures you are probably better off keeping this one in the box.

This thing is very fragile. I own a lot of figure statue type collectibles but this one is definitely one of the more sensitive out of them all. If your not good with delicate collectibles I would not get this but If you are a pretty responsible collector then this thing definitely makes your visitors take a closer look...!!!

I actually bought this to display, not play with and as far as "fun" value I don't imagine it would be overly exciting to play with.
The piece is made of solid, slightly flexed, plastic that will likely hold up to any falls or scuffs that may occur making the piece durable and eliminating the chance of chipping or of fragile extremities breaking off.
None of the parts are movable, instead it is cast plastic in a mold and the arms, etc. are frozen in their position and the sword is not removable.
One thing I didn't notice in the picture that I did when I took it out is that what I first thought was a black part of the cloak is actually Cloud's "demonic" one wing. I actually enjoyed this discovery, especially as it compliments my Dissidia Sephiroth figure.
Overall very nice, but not what I would consider a "collectors" piece.
