Any pose you can imagine! Mar 23, 2009
By J. Reno Being only the third installment in Kaiyodo's line of super-poseable 6" action figures using the "Revoltech" joint system and the first true action figure based on Dante from Devil May Cry (not including Kaiyodo's smaller gashapon line), this toy has a lot to live up to. Well, rest assured this figure goes above and beyond any expectations you might have.
When you hold the box containing the Dante figure in your hands, you know right away you're getting a quality product. The graphics on the package show Dante in a number of awesome poses, most of which could never be possible with a traditional 6" figure. Dante displays quite nicely inside the box, and he has more heft to him than one might first expect. All of the text on the box, both Japanese and English, is printed clearly and all major points are bright and bold.
Although some people might argue that this figure is a little too small, I have no problems with Dante's size. Sure he may be smaller than other figures labeled "six inches," but he sports more articulation than almost any other action figure being produced right now. As mentioned above Dante utilizes the patented Revoltech Joint System which is an amalgamation of the words "Revolver" and "Technology" which really give him working articulation. Meaning that the joints 'click' into place when being posed so that the figure can maintain some of the more stylish poses Devil May Cry is known for. There really is no limit to the number of action-poses you can give Dante - your imagination can run wild with this one!
The sculpting and paint applications on this figure are astounding given it's size. All of the little details like buttons, zippers, and buckles are given the full painted treatment and Dante's skin is given a nice shading of multiple flesh-tones. Truly amazing work done in this category.
The number of accessories that accompany this figure is also quite astounding. If you are a fan of the game that this incarnation of Dante hails from, then you will be very happy indeed. Included here is one interchangeable head, two hand guns called "Ebony and Ivory," his famous sword named "Rebellion," a double-barreled shotgun, and "Nevan" his electric guitar!! Also included is a display base with a revoltech joint of it's own for those cool mid-air poses.
There is nothing I would consider bad here except for the fact that no other Devil May Cry figures have been announced in the Revoltech line as of yet. (But hope springs eternal...) Otherwise, this figure is more that worth the price you will pay for him. High quality craftsmanship, great paint-apps, tons of extras, and maximum poseability all add up to making this one of the best representations of Dante in action figure form ever. Whether you consider yourself a fan of Devil May Cry or just plain cool figures in general, this is a must-buy.
Devils Will Cry Nov 29, 2011
By Anneliese Last year about this time, I purchased many things from Amazon-- the lot of them being action figures. I am a fan of the Devil May Cry series, and about this time, I had already bought other action figures from the series. So, why not another?
Upon arriving, I was confused on why the package was so small. Opening it, I was so disappointed. Talk about your heart sinking to your feet! Dante was so small... nothing like it advertised. The packaging was very attractive, (and all in Japanese) but it was nothing that I had imagined.
Upon removing him from the fairly simply plastic, I saw what great detail had been put into his weapons. His weapons. Not himself.
After letting him sit for a bit, (it's best to let anything with moving parts settle before using, as the heat/cold from the packaging makes it vulnerable to breakage) I picked him up to play. He had very limited articulation, and some things weren't quite right about the way he moved. The hair colour was all wrong, (being purpleish-grey)and some of the paint has already began to peel. Placing his sword Rebellion (amazing details) in his hand to further test him out, his wrist snapped off almost immediately. Keep in mind, I was very delicate with him, (seeing as though he caused me $35.90) and there was no movement that should have caused this. I could no longer use that hand, so I tested the other with one of his guns. This was nice, though. It stayed in his palm, and the attention to detail was astonishing.
As I mentioned earlier, his weapons had amazing detail. Like, Rebellion has every last characteristic down to the cracks in the skull! And Ebony & Ivory even had the golden signature painted carefully on their sides. Nevan, however, had the scythe on backwards, and it just looked plain wrong when Dante held it.
TL;DR? This toy is a monstrosity. Would kick someone away from buying it. So not recommended.
Excellent! Jul 08, 2010
By Italo G. C. Pucci It's a very good toy. It's very beautiful, very resistant. My son (9 years old) love this toy because it's like the movie. I love see my son happy when playing this toy. So, I'm glad for this. Enjoy you too.

Buyer Beware Aug 20, 2009
By D. Stephens Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2EZSLQJN9T0M3 You can argue I may be rough with the joints, but I was trying to show off what the figure advertised.
