GREAT SHIP! Jun 06, 2010
By Adam Chris Diaz Yes it is very big, but that is the point. Hasbro has had trouble in the past making scale vehicles to figures. Not in this case, I believe that it is one of its selling points. Finally Hasbro has started to make scale vehicles!
Pros: To scale (finally)! Cockpit seats two figures. R2 Unit slot has a secure brace to hold it in. Big, bright and beautiful.
Cons: Front cannons can bend very easily. Has a weird "opening" in the middle of the ship that in my opinion doesn't need to be there. - In this opening, there are a set of missile launches that pop up and reveal the inside of the ship. (I imagine they are not there) Landing gear had a tendency to collapse if not on a completely hard surface due to the weight of the ship.
Overall this is a great ship for collectors, but children may have a hard time maintaining it due to its weight and the type of plastic its made of. If you are a collector, add this ship to your fleet, you will not regret it.

This thing is BIG... Sep 24, 2009
By Rolando F. Mocan Quan This new Y-Wing is a big, sturdy and overall superior toy, compared to the old Original Trilogy (OT) Y-Wing toys Gold Squadron Y-Wing Fighter With Pilot & Droid.
- It's definitely more durable, especially because the engine nacelles (the cylinders) are completely solid, whereas the OTY-Wing only has some sticks holding the bottom cap. The only thing I would be concerned about are the guns in the bubble canopy.
- It's loaded with features: 6 spring-loaded firing missiles and 2 dropping bombs; concealed missile bays and a handle to manipulate the toy. The droid socket is cleverly designed to cover the droid's body and hold it secure. The OT Y-Wing had only 1 dropping bomb and a molded astromech droid (although the original toy did have a droid socket).
- It's considerably bigger than the OT Y-Wing. Even the cockpit seats two figures comfortably. It's the size that the OT Y-Wing toy should have been. The scale is a better match for the new, bigger X-Wings, Ties and Millenium Falcon. But in fact, it may be TOO big and heavy for smaller children. I'm an adult and honestly find it heavy.
- As with all the new toys, cost cutting has meant that they don't feature the amazing paint applications we've seen on past OT vehicles. So this one is mostly white.
I'm sure newcomers to Star Wars, especially children, will like this toy a lot, since it has only appeared on the cartoon. To me, however, even though it seems a far superior toy, it still doesn't feel so... loved as the old one. I know how this is called: Nostalgia. This was once (in the OT) the mule of the underdog, the oppressed... not the triumphant army of the Republic... And I believe this is why the old Y-Wing is being sold at such ridiculously high prices right now...

Great Overall Jan 30, 2011
By Dave Over all a very nice toy.
Pros: As others have stated, fits two, has droid socket, BIG.
Cons: Laser cannons at the nose are inserted at factory. They can in a bent position during shipment from manufacturer. Since they are made of rubber for safety if they are bent for some time they stay bent. If they were designed to be snapped into place by the parents then there would be a better chance that they would be straight. From a play point of view... The turrent does not rotate. The guns in the turrent do move up and down but just slighty, maybe 15 degrees.
The cons are something a child wont notice aside from the turrent not rotating which mine child did notice.
