ANAKIN SKYWALKER TO DARTH VADER...AND BACK AGAIN! Oct 08, 2005
By A. Kuehn This toy is fantastic for a lot of reasons. First, you get two, great Star Wars characters in one package. The detail for each one is very good. The accessories that come with them complete them in a nice way. Changing the clothes from one character to another may require the help of an adult. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the boots present the greatest challenge. But, if you read a few of them, you will find that some people have come up with some excellent solutions. The best one I suggest is breathing warm, moist air into the boot and then slip it on. If you use butter, oil, or some other lubricant, you run the risk of staining the rest of the clothing or having a food product spoil on you and then leaving a bad odor. As an action figure, this toy is pretty good for a 12-inch figure. The articulation is good enough to place either of the characters in some dramatic poses and have them displayed. Collectors are wise to purchase this toy as I'm sure its value will increase because of the success of the Episode 3. If there were anything bad to say about this toy, I guess someone might think that the hands for Vader were too big when compared to Anakin's hands. And, that the mask and helmet were a little too big, as well. The helmet also seems like it should have come down closer to his shoulders so it hides more of the details that adorn the back neck area of the mask. But, when you consider the high gloss finish on the helmet, belt, and boots and the fine cloth work done on Anakin's/Vader's cape and costume, the bad things don't seem so bad at all. This item is pretty pricey, but is well worth the money for a true fan or collector. What it may not have in playability, articulation, or action features, it makes up for in its overall appearance. If you find yourself wondering if you should buy it or not, go ahead and do it. You'll be glad you did.

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! Apr 25, 2005 This is the most fun toy i have ever layed my eyes on. It was made very creatively and durably and is very good for either play or display. The Anakin was done well. He even has the scars on his face and comes with a blue lightsaber and two mechanical arms. Darth Vader was done excellently, no detail was spared. He is very easy to change, so younger buyers will not have much trouble. The Vader figure has a changable head for when he became burned and scared. His helmet is 3 pieces, just like it was in Episode V Return of the Jedi. And of course, he comes with a red lightsaber. I strongly reccomend buying this figure, it is worth every single penny you spend, do not hesitate!!!

Great figure for Star Wars fans! Apr 30, 2005
By Eric Liew Previously I got him as part of the Sith Lords 2-pack from Hasbro. The head sculpt on that was the older Anakin and the suit doesn't come off (Not that you can't try).
With this, we get a young Anakin head sculpt, additional crispy head and removable clothing. That in itself is worth the purchase. However, my qualms about this is due to the fact that the Vader suit is the exact SAME version as the one included in the Sith 2-pack. Good thing? Not really. The problem with both Vader suits is the HELMET! Its too big and extended too far towards the back. Definitely something to consider if you are an avid collecter of Darth Vader figures.
Other than that, its actually one of the better 12" figures from Hasbro besides Ultimate Jango Fett. Quality is ok and its very playable with interchangable clothing. If you really want a good Vader, then I recommend the upcoming Medicom Darth Vader, though very pricey. With ample Vader figures coming out, this one has to be a MUST GET despite its poorly scaled helmet.

Ultimate Childhood Dream Finally Fulfilled!!! Apr 02, 2005
By Redeemer OH MY GOD! You have no idea how much buying this toy means to me. Ever since I saw Star Wars as a child, I was hooked on the persona of Darth Vader. His cold, unsympathetic demeanor and his ultimate redemption has changed the way I view the world, and for that, he's my favorite movie character.
Since I was a child, I've always wanted a good replica of Darth Vader to remind me of my childhood, but as any Star Wars fan knows, a good Darth Vader toy is very hard to find, especially one as high-caliber as this. Not to mention that they cost more than the average Star Wars figure due to the character's popularity.
I have been planning for this day ever since I entered high school four years ago. I knew that when I was a Senior, Episode III would be released, and they would definitely be selling a good Darth Vader figure, and I was hoping it would be a 12" figure. Well I was proven right, and how right I was!
This Darth Vader figure is different in that you can change him to who he was: Anakin Skywalker. This is a great addition to the figure, and it will certainly cause it to be worth more than usual.
Since this is 2005, the production quality of the figure will be better than the toys of Episode II, which is good if you care about the little details.
I made a mistake many years ago in not buying the 12" Darth Vader figure when it was in my grasp at my local Kmart. When I went to buy it later, it was gone...gone...Well I'm not making the same mistake again, and neither should you! Don't pass up this last opportunity to claim this piece of movie history, as well as nostalgia. I swear you'll regret it if you do. Trust me.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST STAR WARS TOY EVER May 21, 2005
By Jackson Bailey I bought this toy for my son and he absolutely loves it. All of his toys seem to get a one or two day play/attention lifespan from him which is pretty normal for most young kids. But this toy has yet to fall from grace. It's played with almost all day, everyday.
The attention to detail is great and it has amazing posing possibilities. It's a versatile toy if you have some of the Original Trilogy figures... no need to buy a Darth since this Anakin doll can be transformed into the evil Lord Vader. If only Hasbro and Lucas would issue a similar figure for Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in which he could transform into Darth Sidious.
The only draw back to this toy -- AND THIS IS A BIG ONE -- is that the top of the helmet doesn't secure to top of the Anakin/Vader head and constantly falls off during play. And of course, as mentioned in other reviews on this page... those darned boots (for both the Anakin and the Darth costumes) are almost impossible to get back on once taken off.
