Good fun for kids even if they haven't seen the movie--OK for collectors. Nov 29, 2011
By Shorty Note: this is a mass review for the Light Cycle, Light Runner, and Original Light Cycle
Bought this because I really liked the movie and like to collect all things "motorcycle" related. As far as a display item, it works well, and having the lights and sounds on "display" mode is cool to the occasional "fiddler" when they come to your house.
As far as a toy goes, I recently had a 5 year old come over and was just so happy to let him play with the toys that he asked Santa for one for himself. That said, under a 5 year old's touch, the "air brakes" and cockpit cockpit openings (if the toy has these features) will come off rather easily, so it could be a choking hazard-not necessarily for the person playing with the toys, but for any other kids that still put things in their mouths.
Other than that, the cool factor is awesome, and telling them the story about how the light cycles can operate upside down etc...lights up their imagination.

So---you like bikes! Apr 04, 2011

Greatings Programs... I just got my Deluxe Clu Light Cycle in and I'm very VERY happy. Much like the Sam Deluxe LC the Clu version seems wider then the SDLC but is still the same other then color. Also like the SDLC you can press and hold the button on the side to get a light and sound show and you can push it to also get the lights and sounds to come up. The only con I have with mine is that there's a white line across the top front wheel, I don't know if that's suppost to be there or someone forgot to paint it, the firgure that came with it didn't want to come off (I got him out there, it just took a little effert ;D ) and my Clu Core Figure's batteries died...meh no big whoop. The only other complaint I have is that this is a very VERY hard find, I'm not even sure if it's sold in stores. Other then that this is a wonderful addtion to my collection and if you can buy it---GET IT...End of Line.

Clu Light Cycle Jan 18, 2011
By Brian M. Paul This review applies to mainly the Deluxe Light Cycle for Clu. I think this toy is really well designed, like Sam's Light Cycle. Originally I wasn't so much of a fan of the new light cycle designs, but after seeing the movie the design grew on me. Both come with a removable figure that has movable arms and really nice helmets, and you can squeeze in a regular 'core' figure into the toy. The cycles have a good build quality, with nice lights and sounds for forward and reverse, and large working wheels. In fact, after receiving the Kevin Flynn retro cycle (my favorite design visually) I'd say the Clu and Sam cycles are better toys overall.
That said, it was a poor decision to make this cycle available only at Walmart. Walmart has already clearanced this item out, so it is becoming very hard to find. How can the makers make one 'good guy' light cycle and a 'bad guy' light cycle but now no one can buy the bad guy light cycle? Kevin Flynn's light cycle is available but his wasn't involved in a battle, and you can't very well battle a Kevin vs Sam on light cycle.
Unless there is a Rinzler light cycle coming or if Clu becomes available elsewhere, there are going to be some disappointed kids looking for this product. I'm glad I found one already.
awsome light cycle! May 02, 2012
By ewy this was my first deluxe light cycle and i think tht its awsome!i like how the tiers r made of rubber and the air brake feture.i just wish tht the clu figure came out of the light cycle more smoothly, but over all its awsome and i recomend it.
Good but easy to lose and damage Apr 13, 2012

This is a very basic toy, it looks cool, but there are a few things you need to know:
1. The wheels don't turn smoothly, they feel like there is a grinding inside when you move it around on the floor.
2. It does light up and it looks cool
3. It is not motorized and does nothing special
4. There are two plastic fins that pop out on the back, those broke quickly for the one we received.
For the price it isn't bad, but this is nothing special.
